Binoculars showed the way to this 23-year-old citizen scientist

An informal meeting with researchers during a trip to Dehradun in Uttarakhand introduced me to Taukeer Alam, a self-trained field biologist. Taukeer is one of the most significant contributors to citizen science data on birds via e-bird in Uttarakhand.

His inspiring story led to a spontaneous story idea. I was able to film and interview Taukeer for a couple of hours and edit a profile video for Mongabay-India.
