Manipur's native fishes in troubled waters
The northeast Indian state of Manipur hosts more than 200 indigenous fish species. Loktak Lake, which hosts numerous fish species and provides a livelihood for the people living around it, has been under severe human pressure for the last few decades.
With Contributing Editor Sahana Ghosh, I interviewed people living around the lake whose culture and economies depend on fish and researchers from Manipur. I filmed, scripted, and edited the video.
