In anticipation of India’s largest coal mining project

Journalist Snigdhendu Bhattacharya and photographer Subhrajit Sen visited villages that were part of the largest coal mining project in West Bengal, India. They documented existing stone quarries, farmlands, football fields, and other areas that go under coal mining. They met the people working and living in these areas to document their hopes and anxieties about the upcoming transition.
